For a Friend

I recently had a friend ask me if he could have a print of my work. He offered to pay for it, and when I told him he could, he chose my old Wizard of OZ painting. He had it printed, bought a frame and hung it in his sons room. After that...and this cracks me up...he realized that his son had never seen "The Wizard Of OZ". So, he had his son watch it soon afterwards. Now my artwork can really be appreciated. :D We have great friends, my wife and I. Hope everyone is having a good summer.

  1. Don't tell him I told you this, but we never watch The Wizard of Oz because of the munchkins. There's something about them (and the oompaloompas in Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory) that don't make him very happy. ;) Okay, seriously, I'm not sure why he doesn't like the movie, but he's never really liked it much.

I didn't notice this initially, but I like how this image represents both a general feel of the entire adventure and a few specific moments, all because Dorothy is holding the broom. Totally awesome. (The Van Gogh-esq clouds are also awesome.)
